Year two of the One New Zealand Warriors’ Resilience in Industry initiative has seen significant progress.
The programme, run in conjunction with wellbeing partner Le Va, was launched last year in a drive to nurture wellbeing in the workforce.
“We have successfully completed the second phase of our project,” said One New Zealand Warriors wellbeing and education manager Jerry Seuseu.
“By bringing workshops directly into the corporate community, we leverage high-performance sporting principles alongside our elite team of former Warrior players – now highly-trained wellbeing staff – to build lasting industrial resilience.
“Through shared personal stories, our team provides practical tools and strategies that empower workers to manage their own mental and physical health.”
Seuseu said the Resilience in Industry initiative had made a major impact across Auckland, notably featuring a brand-new pilot programme at Titan Rail, a company led by 2002 Kiwi rugby league international Michael Smith and brother Stephen, who was a rugby union international for Manu Samoa.
Alongside Titan Rail, the Ione New Zealand Warriors delivered their highly acclaimed workshops to leading organisations including Mondiale VGL, Asahi, Department of Corrections, BAT, Oji, Vanti and Linfox.

Seuseu said the Warriors had expanded their ‘Wahs Up’ community to 500 members across 22 participating workplaces.
Supported by 40 newly recruited workplace wellbeing ambassadors, this growing network establishes a sustainable community of care.
“This framework empowers us to actively address local wellbeing challenges and efficiently deliver ongoing mental health and resilience training for the Warriors’ workplace community,” said Seuseu.
Key facilitators of the programme are former One New Zealand Warriors NRL players Ben Henry, Anthony Gelling and Ali Lauitiiti.
