Broughton's club debut delivers Dally M maximum points

One New Zealand Warriors playmaker Gayle Broughton has netted the maximum six Dally M points after her exceptional club debut in yesterday’s 32-10 round one NRLW win over the Bulldogs in Hamilton.

Coming off premiership glory with the Broncos last year, the major offseason signing left her mark all over the contest.

The 30-year-old broke the scoring deadlock when she dummied and carved through the Bulldogs’ defence to score the opening try in the 20th minute.

She was the dominant player on the field, lighting up the Warriors’ left edge where she had a critical hand in the doubles scored by centre Emmanita Paki and winger Lavinia Tauhalaliku.

Broughton made 53 metres from eight runs, three tackle breaks, handled the ball 30 times, finished with 19 tackles with only one miss and made 62 metres from three kicks.

Of the other five points, fullback Apii Nicholls and Paki were awarded two each with halfback Patricia Maliepo picking up one points. The remaining point went to Bulldogs prop Alexis Tauaneia.

Nicholls made 119 metres from 10 runs (59 post-contact metres), two line break assists, two try assists, two tackles breaks and three kicks for 50 metres.

Double try scorer Paki made 77 metres from 10 runs, had two line breaks, one line break, one line break assist, two tackle breaks and 13 tackles without a miss.
