JFC Team List: History created with new venue

New ground will be broken when a One New Zealand Warriors side plays on school grounds for the first time in the club’s history tomorrow.

It comes about with the Dilworth School Senior Campus in Epsom being used as the venue for the club’s round seven Jersey Flegg Cup (under-21) encounter with the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (11.00am kick-off).

The school has become a regular training venue for most visiting NRL sides ahead of their away games against the One New Zealand Warriors at Go Media Stadium.

The Kiwi Ferns also trained there during last year’s Pacific Championships as did the Tonga and Toa Samoa sides in preparation for their clashes against the Kiwis.

Tomorrow some of New Zealand rugby league’s brightest prospects will be on show as the Warriors seek to end a run of three straight defeats.

After starting the year with three big wins on end, they succumbed to a late comeback by the Wests Tigers (30-36), were heavily beaten by the Sharks (12-36) and fell to a 24-26 loss to the Storm last Saturday (Melbourne’s first win of the season).

Sitting eighth on six points, the Warriors now face another side without a win in the Sea Eagles but three of their five losses have been by four points or less.
