Trio still hopeful for opening round

The Vodafone Warriors are hopeful captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, prop Agnatius Paasi and back rower Josh Curran will be available for the Vodafone Warriors’ NRL season opener against the Knights at McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle on Saturday, March 14 (5.00pm kick-off NZT).

Tuivasa-Sheck (foot), Paasi (ankle) and Curran (calf) picked up injuries in the club’s 6-20 loss to the Wests Tigers in Sunday’s final preseason trial in Rotorua.

Vodafone Warriors head of medical David Close said the players were being monitored and it was hoped they would recover in time.
