Season 2019 has rolled into gear for the Warriors’ NRL Women’s Premiership squad.

Head coach Luisa Avaiki, assistant coach Justin Morgan and the players assembled at Mount Smart Stadium on Tuesday night to launch the build-up to the competition’s second edition.

It was the first time the full squad had gathered in full, the players putting on their training gear for media and photoshoot commitments as well as a meeting when Vodafone Warriors CEO Cameron George and NRL head coach Stephen Kearney welcomed the players to the club. The formalities were followed by a gym session.

The 2019 squad comprises 10 players from the foundation 2018 team with the 11 new faces including the great Honey Hireme. A 22nd player is yet to be named to replace the injured Va’anessa Molia-Fraser.

The Warriors travel to Whangarei on Friday for a two-day camp built around training sessions and community activities.
