Vodafone Warriors players and staff had the privilege of having the club’s original captain and Warrior #1 Dean Bell as special guest speaker at the most recent club-wide meeting late last week.
Invited by CEO Cameron George, the former Kiwi captain shared the story of his rugby league journey starting out with the Manukau Magpies and the honour of captaining the Warriors in the club’s inaugural season.
Proud of the progress the team made during the 2018 season, the Otara-raised Bell asked the staff and players to be the best they can be every day and challenged the squad to move beyond potential in their quest for success in 2019 season.
George was thrilled to have one of the club’s original trailblazers back at Mount Smart Stadium and emphasised the importance of honouring the club’s history and those that paved the way for players and staff at the club now.
