Venues have been confirmed for the Vodafone Junior Warriors’ annual open trials this weekend, including a ground change for the opening day tomorrow.

The first day was scheduled for Cornwall Park but the ground is unavailable, resulting in a move to Bert Henham Park, home of the Otahuhu Leopards.

Bert Henham Park is at 645 Mount Wellington Highway. Pre-registered players should arrive between 9.00-9.30am tomorrow for registrations.

Up to 110 players are expected to be involved across three 60-minute trials on the day as they try to impress the selectors to be invited back to the closed trial day on Sunday. Trials will kick off at 10.30am, 11.45am and 1.00pm.

For day two, players identified from the trial games from Bert Henham Park will join others selected by Vodafone Warriors recruitment staff to form a high-quality closed training and trial day.

The day two closed trial will be staged at Mount Wellington War Memorial Park, 22-50 Dunkirk Road, Panmure on Sunday.

Selected players are required to register from 10.00am-10.30am for a trial game later in the day.

Day two will be run alongside the Toa Samoa regional rugby league tournament at the same venue.

The Toa Samoa tournament is a celebration of culture and rugby league which started today (Friday) with mini and mods and continuing on Saturday and Sunday when teams in youth and senior grades will be in action.
