St George Illawarra utility Kurt Mann scored a late try to give the Vodafone Warriors a 10-14 loss in their last pool match at the Downer NRL Auckland Nines at Eden Park today.

The home side had a 10-6 lead early in the second half after Tuimoala Lolohea had toed the ball ahead, regathered and scored.

However, it was 10-10 soon after Levi Dodd scored wide out.

Nene Macdonald busted the Vodafone Warriors through the middle and was destined to put the Dragons in front but desperate stopped him just short and he lost possession trying to reach the line.

Having dodged that bullet the Vodafone Warriors pushed for a winner but instead sure Mann make an outside break and run away for the winner. There wasn’t time left on the clock after that.

Earlier Ata Hingano took the line on to score the Vodafone Warriors’ first try.
