Shaun Johnson’s junior club Hibiscus Coast is right in the spotlight this week.

It starts with some young Raiders starring in ‘Small Talk’ on the Footy Show tonight (the show starts on SKY Sport 2 at 10.30pm).

The Big Marn – aka Darryl Brohman – was in Auckland last month to shoot two episodes of the programme’s highly-popular ‘Small Talk’ segment as well as doing a feature interview with new Vodafone Warriors captain Ryan Hoffman. A Footy Show crew also shot material for the weekly Player Probe feature with Hoffman, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Manu Vatuvei, Konrad Hurrell and Issac Luke. The players have all popped up in the show’s first two weeks.

As well as 'Small Talk' tonight, Hibiscus Coast will also be centre stage on the Vodafone Warriors’ first home match day of the season at Mount Smart Stadium on Sunday.

The Hibiscus Coast Raiders will be one of four clubs involved in the traditional mini mod games featuring on the match day programme. The other clubs will be the Otara Scorpions, the Otahuhu Leopards and the Richmond Rovers. Vatuvei and Sam Lisone are among current NRL players who were Otara juniors, Tuivasa-Sheck started out with Otahuhu and James Gavet with Richmond.

The Vodafone Warriors are staging a tripleheader on Sunday starting with the club’s Intrust Super Premiership side playing Newtown at 11.45am followed by the NYC clash between the Vodafone Junior Warriors and Melbourne before climaxing with the NRL fixture when the Vodafone Warriors will defend the Michael Moore Trophy.
