Maxigesic Recovery Report: NRL and NRLW squads

One New Zealand Warriors fullback Taine Tuaupiki faces one to two weeks on the sideline with a foot sprain suffered in Saturday night’s round 21 NRL loss to the Bulldogs in Sydney.

Making his 41st first-grade appearance, Tuaupiki left the field just before halftime with Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad coming off the bench to replace him.

The rest of the NRL squad’s injury list remains unchanged. Prop Jackson Ford in line to return for the final rounds of the season while Tanah Boyd and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck continue their recovery from season-ending knee surgery.

Meanwhile, new signing Mele Hufanga has been cleared from the NRLW squad’s casualty ward.  

While she was initially included in the extended squad to face Parramatta last week she was later omitted when it was decided she needed another week to fully recover from the hamstring injury she picked up in preseason.

Hufanga has been named to make her club debut in the Warriors’ Magic Round clash against the Titans in Wagga Wagga on Sunday.

Ruled out this week is hooker Jay HuriwaI who is following head injury protocols.

Closer to being available are Anastasia Sekene (ankle), Matekino Gray (foot) and Laishon Albert-Jones (calf).
