The Vodafone Warriors' NRL squad took time away from the grind of preseason training to attend the SKYCITY’s annual Kidz First Christmas Party.
Many sick children and their families who have spent time in the wards of Kidz First Children's Hospital were invited to the Christmas party to take a well-deserved break from the tough times they are going through. Delicious treats, musical entertainment and the beloved sport stars were on site to help provide some joy and laughter for the young kids.
The players were kept busy painting faces, decorating Christmas cards and making ice cream sundaes for the kids within SKYCITY’s Auckland room.
Auckland Mayor Len Brown was there to gather up the Vodafone Warriors, SKYCITY Breakers, Mystics and Blues for a Christmas carol sing-a-long to close the event.
Shaun Johnson, Toafofoa Sipley, Bodene Thompson and Raymond Faitala-Mariner handed out ginger bread men as the children and their families departed.
Kidz First Children's Hospital located in South Auckland is purpose built to deliver family centred health care and serve the culturally diverse Counties Manukau community.
