The Vodafone Junior Warriors have kicked off their 2015 NYC campaign against Newcastle at Hunter Stadium.

They've gone into the contest with the same line-up named earlier in the week.

FIRST HALF

3'00" | After forcing Newcastle into an early error, the Vodafone Junior Warriors rumbled up the middle, having shots at the line from close range before going to a short side on the left on the last tackle. Semisi Tyrell surged strongly and, despite the attention of defenders, off loaded over the top for Tomas Aoake to squeeze in at the corner. Ata Hingano couldn't convert.

12'00" | A major setback with Toafofoa Sipley assisted off the field with an injury. It forces an unplanned early interchange with Paul Tuli coming on.

14'00" | Nathaniel Roache told by the referee to get some blood tidied up after Newcastle held up in goal. With Roache off, the Knights immediately struck with Bryce Donovan going across with ease. He couldn't convert his own try.

22'00" | Newcastle hits the front, Donovan pushes a grubber through the Vodafone Junior Warriors' right edge, centre Josh Birch winning the race to force the ball for a try awarded without referral (and didn't need it either). Donovan converted.

Newcastle 10, Vodafone Junior Warriors 4

26'00" | Brilliant reply from the Vodafone Junior Warriors. Striking from 50 metres out, Jazz Tevaga turns the ball inside for a flying Brad Abbey who blasts upfield, draws the defence and outs Ata Hingano away for a fantastic try. Hingano converts from in front. It's all locked up.

31'00: | Brad Abbey's goal-line drop out rolls and rolls all the way into touch in Newcastle's half. Fantastic result. From the scrum, the Vodafone Junior Warriors set up to their left, Hingano popping a nice ball to the busy Jazz Tevaga on his shoulder, Tevaga swerving around his marker to score. The Knights opted for a captain's challenge but the try stood as it should have. The Knights don't have another challenge this half. Hingano, who has been dominant throughout, converts and the Vodafone Junior Warriors are back in front.

35'00" | The Vodafone Junior Warriors hand over possession from the restart, giving the Knights an attacking set. They profited immediately, again using their left edge for centre Josh Birch to score his second try of the match. The Vodafone Junior Warriors opted to use their captain's challenge close to halftime but it was in vain. The try stood, Donovan converted superbly and the contest is all even again.

SECOND HALF

42'00" | Disappointing start to the second half for the Vodafone Junior Warriors. Turned ball over and now they have paid with Newcastle captain Danny Levi scoring under the bar for Bryce Donovan to convert putting the Knights back in front.

Newcastle 22, Vodafone Junior Warriors 16

48'00" | The Vodafone Junior Warriors force a goal-line dropout. Repeat set but attack breaks down.

57'00" | Still 22-16 to the Knights. Errors frustrating the Vodafone Junior Warriors as they try to build some pressure.

66'00" | The Knights come at the Vodafone Junior Warriors from inside their half, loose forward Luke Yates breaking through the line and running away from the defence to give Donovan an easy conversion. It gives the Knights a 12-point advantage with less than 15 minutes to play.

73'00" | Donovan gives Newcastle a 13-point lead with a field goal.

79'00" | The score blows out on the fulltime siren with Luke Yates scoring a second try. Donovan converts to finish off a powerful second half display by the Knights.
