Nostalgia is everywhere as the Vodafone Warriors prepare to kick off their landmark 20th anniversary season.

Just before Christmas the club marked its first 20 seasons in existence with the release of a souvenir DVD box set containing a total of 30 memorable matches – one from each season plus a bonus 10 games comprising the 2002 and 2011 NRL grand finals and the eight finals matches the Vodafone Warriors have won. Members can buy it at a discounted price of just $72.00

Now SKY Sport is providing its own smorgasbord of Vodafone Warriors hits from the past by launching a Vodafone Warriors pop-up channel.

It goes to air from tomorrow (Friday, February 27) running for six days up to the opening match of the 2015 NRL season between Brisbane and South Sydney next Thursday (March 5).

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of New Zealand’s only NRL club, SKY Sport’s Vodafone Warriors pop-up channel will screen a selection of 18 classic clashes, including the historic first match against the Brisbane Broncos way back in 1995.

The breath-taking footage includes Francis Meli’s five-try blitz against the Bulldogs (2003), Ruben Wiki steamrolling Iosia Soliola in front of a sold-out Mount Smart Stadium (2008), Krisnan Inu’s last-gasp effort versus the Tigers (2011) and Shaun Johnson’s bamboozling dummy to fool the Storm’s Kevin Proctor and Cooper Cronk (2011).

So dust off that retro jersey, chuck on some gold-plated grillz to support Manu, and enjoy 18 golden matches from the mighty New Zealand Warriors’ 20-year history.

Remember SKY Sport will have live coverage of every NRL match this season, starting with the Broncos and Rabbitohs next Thursday (March 5) on SKY Sport 2 at 9.30pm.

  • SKY Sport Vodafone Warriors pop-up: Friday, February 27-Wednesday, March 4 | Three matches per day at 5.30pm, 7.30pm and 9.30pm on SKY Sport 5.
