WORLD RECORD ONESIE PARTY!

Match-Up: Vodafone Warriors v Brisbane Broncos
Date: Saturday June 21, 2014
Venue: Mt Smart Stadium, Penrose, Auckland, NZ
NRL Kickoff 7.30pm

NRL PREVIEW

The Vodafone Warriors are playing host to an in-form Brisbane Broncos outfit at Mount Smart Stadium this Saturday. Both sides will be seeking a strong return from a bye week which, for the Warriors, was a chance to recover after their long trip to Perth where they were outlasted by the Rabbitohs. For the Broncos, on the other hand, the bye provided a breather after a superb run of form during which they won four on the trot. The Brisbane-siders arrive in Auckland placed fifth on the table, ahead of the Vodafone Warriors who are two points outside of the top eight in 11th place.

Coach McFadden has made some tweaks to the line-up, placing Sam Rapira into the starting squad ahead of Suaia Matagi. Ben Henry makes his return after a knee injury and will play off the bench, where he is joined by Charlie Gubb, who gets his first nod for the NRL outfit since Round 7.

Head-to-head:  Brisbane Broncos 14 wins, Vodafone Warriors 19 wins

Last meeting: Vodafone Warriors 18 (Manu Vatuvei, Elijah Taylor, Konrad Hurrell; Shaun Johnson 3 conversions) defeated Brisbane Broncos 16 (Lachlan Maranta, Peter Wallace, Josh Hoffman; Scott Prince 2 conversions) at Mt Smart Stadium.

NSW CUP PREVIEW

The NSW Cup side was the lone squad in action last weekend and they put on a show in Gisborne against Cronulla, winning 16-12 in front of over 5,000 fans at Rugby Park. This week, the fourth-placed Warriors host the Wyong Roos back at Mount Smart where they will have a chance to continue their climb up the competition ladder. Rohan Smith’s side have won four of their last five matches and are now five points off the pace that league leaders Penrith are setting. The Roos, having topped Mounties last week, are simply looking to post back-to-back wins for the first time this season. They currently sit at 10th place on the ladder.

NYC PREVIEW

The Vodafone Junior Warriors have the opportunity to consolidate their place in the top half of the ladder when they face the Broncos in the first of three matches at Mount Smart on Saturday. Stacey Jones’ squad are placed seventh on the table and will look to rebound strongly from their 26-28 loss to South Sydney before the bye week. The Broncos, much like their senior squad, headed into the layoff on a high, with wins against Manly and Canberra, in which they posted 76 points total. The Vodafone Junior Warriors will have to find a way to curb Brisbane’s scoring if they are to take the two points from this encounter.

‘JAMMIES IN JUNE’

A world record is on the cards on Saturday night to promote awareness of the Kidz First Children’s Hospital ‘Jammies in June’ campaign.

The Vodafone Warriors are throwing a Onesie Party, where members and fans have been challenged to wear onesies to the game in a bid to claim the Guinness world record for the ‘largest gathering of people wearing one-piece pyjamas.’

The existing record of 1184 was achieved by Ringwood School in Hampshire in England on February 14 this year at a charity event supporting an ‘End Polio’ campaign.

Be part in something truly special and support ‘Jammies in June’!
