New Zealand Police Rugby League is turning its Station of Origin clash into a benefit match for Sergeant Simon Tate (pictured).
Tate was brutally assaulted while on duty in Otara just over a week ago.
All proceeds from Wednesday nights match at Western Springs Stadium will be given to Tate to support him during his recovery.
The encounter between City Police and South Auckland Police kicks off at 5.45pm. Therell be a Masters clash kicking off at 4.30pm between City Police and South Auckland Police.
Teams will play for the Kali Cup in honour of Kali Fungavaka, the young constable who was killed in Tonga last year.
