Matagi (25) is in line for his fourth NRL appearance when the Vodafone Warriors take on South Sydney in Perth tonight (8.30 kick-off NZT).
It han't been an easy journey for him, though. Anything but. To make it to the NRL stage, the father of two has faced up to the challenge of finding salvation after a troubled youth. Every day is special for him.
Of his battle, Matagi says: ''No matter how many times you drop the ball in life, it's about picking it up and running at the line again. That's what counts.''
Today he told his story to the Sunday News.
