The curtain came down on Round 8 at Ocean Protect Stadium where the Sharks were looking to turn their fortunes around against a dangerous Eels outfit coming off a breakthrough win over the Bulldogs last weekend.
The Eels proved far too strong, producing a 42-16 win, with Rory Owen and Zali Fay both crossed for doubles in the win.
Earlier on Sunday, the Roosters produced a record win over the Warriors, piling on the points to come away with a 66-8 victory at Allianz Stadium.
Scoring the most points by an NRLW side in the competition history, the Roosters ran riot in Sydney, crossing for 12 tries to remain undefeated for the 2026 season.
With star playmaker Tarryn Aiken finishing the match with five try assists and Brydie Parker backing up last week's efforts with another hat-trick, John Strange's side was relentless in attack for the entire 70 minutes of the match.
At Cbus Super Stadium, the Titans made it seven on the trot after coming away with a 28-20 victory over Brisbane in a thrilling Queensland derby on Sunday.
Now knocking off the reigning premiers Broncos, the Titans have well and truly put the rest of the competition on notice as Teagan Levi enjoyed a day out in the No. 6 jersey with a double, six tackle breaks and 125 run metres.

Eels: Round 8
Full-time: The Eels get a big 42-16 win over the Sharks, helping milestone woman Keilee Joseph celebrate her 50th NRLW game in style. The Eels did most of their damage early, heading into the half-time break with a 24-6 lead. The visitors withstood a second-half comeback from the Sharks tried to address their horrible completions in the first half, but overall, penalties and errors were their downfall. Some big performers across the park for the Eels with Rory Owen getting a double and 212 run metres. Marta Mataele was also strong with 165 run metres nine tackle breaks and a try assist, while forwards Elsie Albert and Keilee Joseph in her 50th game were again amongst the top performers.
66th min: The Eels go further in front with Jasmin Morrissey finishing a good effort try from the team. Pouncing on a loose ball that hit the deck down the other side of the field, the ball then went to Martha Mataele who was able to step through defenders before getting the ball back to her speedy winger on her inside. Pearson converts again for a 42-16 lead.
59th min: A successful captain's challenge from the Eels with a messy pick-up from Taneka Todhunter originally ruled a knock on overturned after an examination by the Bunker.
58th min: Bang-bang for the Eels and for Zali Fay who is over for her double. Cassey Tohi-Hiku sets it up with a dummy and a run through the defensive line before passing outside to her winger who was backing up. Pearson's kick is successful this time for a 36-16 lead.
55th min: Momentum back with the Eels after a mini-Sharks fightback, with Zali Fay extending their lead after going over out wide on the left-hand side. The Sharks were penalised and compounded that with an error trying to defend their own half. Pearson can't convert and it's 30-16.
Zali Fay Try
45th min: The Sharks are fighting back and this time it's the returning Rhiannon Byers who is over for their third try. Good work from the home side to capitalise on another Eels error to get over the line. Chantay Kiria-Ratu is successful with her conversion attempt this time for 26-16.
40th min: An important try for the Sharks by Milla Elaro to keep her side in the game. An error from the Eels and then a six-again give the Sharks a sustained run at their line and they swing it to their left for their winger to go over untouched. Kiria-Ratu's conversion from out wide iis waved away so the score stays 26-10.
Milla Elaro Try
38th min: More ill discipline to start the second half from the Sharks and Rachael Pearson needs no further invitation, stepping up to slot another penalty goal. Eels lead 26-6.
Half-time: The visiting Eels have a healthy 24-6 lead after coming out of the blocks with plenty of attacking intent. Origin centre Rory Owen has a first-half double, while Rachael Pearson has slotted three out of her four conversion attempts as well as a penalty goal. For the Sharks, they have only had 32 percent of the possession, completing 7/9 compared with 17/21 for the Eels. They have also conceded seven penalties to one - something coach Tony Herman will be looking to quickly address at the break.
31st min: More points for the Eels with the Bunker overturning a no-try call, awarding Ryvrr-Lee Alo a four-pointer after the forward chased through on a Cassey Tohi-Hiku kick, keeping control of the ball when it first looked like it may have been a knock on. Pearson steps up to take the conversion and is successful for a 24-6 lead.
Ryvrr-Lee Alo Try
27th min: A return to the field from Sharks forward Talei Holmes, with the Fiji international back in the game after having a baby.
22nd min: The Eels go further in front by two points with Rachael Pearson kicking a penalty goal after she was the victim of a hip drop tackle. Ellie Johnston is put on report for the tackle and Parramatta push further in front 18-6.
18th min: An early double for Rory Owen who goes over on the left. While the Sharks had her legs, she kept her arm off the ground and was able to hover it before stretching out and planting the ball. The Sharks are hurting themselves with an error and a penalty in the lead-up to that try. Pearson is successful with the kick and it's 16-6.
Martha Mataele Try
14th min: An instant reply from the Eels with a knock on from the kick-off giving them a scrum. They then quickly work their way to their right and centre Martha Mataele charges over on the right. The conversion attempt from Pearson is unsuccessful and the score remains 10-6.
Jacinta Carter Try
13th min: A quick hit-back for the Sharks with Jacinta Carter scoring her first NRLW try. The powerful prop surges to the line and gets the ball down next to the posts. The returning Chantay Kiria-Ratu who was a late confirmation into the team has no problem slotting the kick and the scores are level 6-6.
7th min: A great solo try for Rory Owen to get the Eels on the board first. She runs from her own 20 metre mark, bursting through some tackles and showing her speed to run the 80 metres to score. Rachael Pearson converts for an early 6-0 lead.
Rory Owen Try
Kick off: Eels kick off to let the Sharks have first use of the ball.
