One New Zealand Warriors halfback Luke Metcalf will be sidelined until the finals with the hamstring strain he suffered in Saturday night’s round 24 encounter with the Brisbane Broncos.
Metcalf picked up the injury as he converted winger Alofi’ana Khan-Pereira’s 18th minute try, the Warriors’ third in their charge to a 40-6 win.
He’s expected to be unavailable for the final regular season matches against the Rabbitohs, Knights and Sea Eagles.
Fellow halfback Te Maire Martin is continuing his recovery from a hamstring strain suffered two days out from the round 23 clash against Penrith on August 7. He’s due to be available for the round 26 home match against Newcastle.
One player has been cleared and one added to the Warriors’ NRLW injury list.
Middle forward Laishon Alberrt-Jones is available after being sidelined since round one with a calf injury but second rower Christabelle Onesemo-Tuilaepa has been ruled out for four to six weeks with an elbow injury.
