Canterbury Bankstown handed an under-manned One New Zealand Warriors side its heaviest loss of the season in Saturday’s round 21 Jersey Flegg Cup (under-21) clash at Belmore Sports Ground in Sydney.
Scoring 11 tries to two, the third-placed Bulldogs surged to a 56-10 win to move to second on the ladder while it was another blow to the Warriors’ chances of mounting a late charge to make the finals.
There were mitigating factors as they took a heavily rearranged side into the contest with injuries or promotion to the New South Wales Cup squad robbing them of regulars.
Already without winger Harry Tauafiafi, hooker Braelan Marsh and second rower Bishop Neal another three players from the originally selected side were missing ln hooker Amasio Tiatia, loose forward Maui Winitana-Patelesio and prop Tepatasi Laumalili while centre Motu Pasikala didn’t play.

Five weeks ago the Warriors held on for a gritty 22-20 win over the Bulldogs in Auckland but this time it was all about revenge for the home side.
Up 20-4 at halftime they were totally dominant in the second half with the only relief for the Warriors coming via fullback Joseph Ratcliffe’s try in the first half and one midway through the second half for halfback Jack Thompson.
