JFC Preview: Special occasion playing at home ground

No One New Zealand Warriors team can count as many playing venues this season as the club’s Jersey Flegg Cup side.

Today the under-21 Warriors add another with their first and what will be their only game of the season at Go Media Stadium.

They kick off a tripleheader game day against the Cronulla Sutherland Sharks (2.45pm start) as they seek to build on their impressive last-start win over the high-flying Panthers.

So far the Warriors have played home games at five different venues in Pukekohe, Takanini, Auckland and Hamilton plus one in Sydney. Their other six games have been scattered around Sydney, Melbourne and Wollongong.

Last updated:

Today they’re boosted by the return of hooker Braelan Marsh from injury which adds another edge to a lineup which upset predictions with a superb 40-30 victory over Penrith two weeks ago.

Together with two points from the bye round last week, the result has lifted the Warriors 18 points just two outside the top five halfway through the regular season.

The Sharks sit fifth after a 42-18 win over the Dragons last week.
