Capewell set for 15th Origin appearance for Maroons

One New Zealand Warriors second rower Kurt Capewell has been confirmed for his 15th State of Origin appearance in Queensland’s must-win clash against New South Wales at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday, June 17.

The 32-year-old was outstanding in the Maroons’ heartbreaking 20-22 Origin I loss at Suncorp Stadium when he was the epitome of a bloodied warrior, rated by many as Queensland's best player on the night.

He’ll again line up in the #12 jersey in a Queensland pack which features a significant change, coach Billy Slater bringing Kiwi and Sharks second rower Briton Nikora into the starting pack.

Nikora, used off the bench in Origin 1, replaces Reuben Cotter who moves to loose forward with Max Plath switched to the bench.

Brisbane and former Warriors fullback Reece Walsh has been recalled on the six-man bench.
