NSW Cup Team List: Pompey's rare reserve grade appearance

One New Zealand Warriors centre Adam Pompey is in line to make his first New South Wales Cup appearance in two years in the club’s round eight clash against North Sydney at FMG Stadium Waikato in Hamilton tomorrow (12.00pm kick-off).

After missing the last two NRL matches through suspension, Pompey has been named to make his return to the field alongside many of the club’s most exciting young players.

The 123-game NRL veteran will provide a huge injection of experience to the reserve grade side which is dominated by players much younger than him including 17-year-olds Bishop Neal and Jeremiah Lemana.

The defending premiers sit eighth on the ladder after their fourth win in seven starts last week.

In North Sydney they face the competition’s table topper although, through a quirk of the draw, the Bears have played only five games after having two byes in the opening seven rounds of the season.

Changes will be made to the Warriors' lineup closer to kick-off. Hooker Makaia Tafua and second rower Eddie Ieremia-Toeava were both named on Tuesday in the side to meet the Bears but both remain in the game day 20 for the NRL Anzac Round match against the Dolphins in Wellington.
