Doubleheader in Hamilton for NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg teams

Hamilton’s FMG Stadium Waikato will host an array of some of the country’s most exciting rugby league prospects when the One New Zealand Warriors stage a New South Wales Cup-Jersey Flegg Cup doubleheader at the venue tomorrow.

The action will start with a round eight NSW Cup clash against the North Sydney Bears (12.00pm kick-off) with the Warriors’ Jersey Flegg under-21 team then taking on Fiji’s Kaiviti Silktails (2.00pm kick-off).

The first three home games of the club’s 2026 NSW Cup campaign were played at Go Media Stadium while in recent seasons Navigation Homes Stadium in Pukekohe, the Trusts Arena in Waitakere, North Harbour Stadium in Albany and Bruce Pulman Park in Takanini have served as home venues in New Zealand.

The last time the Warriors played a New South Wales Cup home game at FMG Stadium Waikato was against Western Suburbs in 2023.

The Hamilton ground will be the fourth different home venue in as many games in New Zealand this season for the Warriors’ Jersey Flegg players.

They started out at Navigation Homes Stadium in round one, used Bruce Pulman Park in round four and broke new ground when they hosted the Sea Eagles at Dilworth School Senior Campus last year, the first time a Warriors side has played on school grounds.

Hamilton has a strong connection with the Warriors staging five NRL games, a number of NRL trials and three of the club's NRLW home games last year. It will used twice for NRLW games this season including the season opener against the Bulldogs on July 5.
