Unveiled today is the One New Zealand Warriors' 2025 Indigenous jersey – Te Ao Mārama – which weaves together heritage, identity and the promise of what lies ahead.
Rooted in Te ao Māori, Te Ao Mārama is the Māori concept of light, clarity and potential.
The predominantly white jersey is a powerful nod to new beginnings, to be worn by the Warriors in their round 23 clash against the Bulldogs in Sydney on August 9 and the round 24 match against the Dragons at Go Media Stadium on August 15.
Designed by Māori artist Jayden Hokianga (Ngāti Porou, Rongowhakaata, Ngāti Maniapoto), the jersey tells a visual story that links the club’s past to its present and future.
“The boys told me they wanted to honour the past but also speak to their journey now,” Hokianga said.
Te Ao Mārama: Telling the story behind the jersey's design
“So that’s what Te Ao Mārama became – a bridge between generations. A reflection of light, understanding and evolution.”
On the front, traditional kaokao patterns represent life’s challenges and triumphs, the ups and downs of the Warriors' journey.

Between these patterns, the use of white space mimics the first light of dawn, a metaphor for clarity, transformation and the promise of new chapters still to be written.
This project was developed in close collaboration with the Warriors’ playing group, including club captain James Fisher-Harris, who helped guide the creative direction to ensure it represented the collective values of the team.
“There’s real mana in this jersey,” said Fisher-Harris.
“It connects us back to our people, to where we’re from. We wear it with pride – not just for ourselves but for our whānau and the next generation watching.”

On the back, the kaokao forms the wake of a waka tacking its way forward through unknown waters.
This design honours those who came before, pathways that have been travesty and travelled by those who have contributed to the Warriors' legacy.
Te Ao Mārama will be available for exclusive pre-sale to One New Zealand Warriors members from 7.00am (NZT) on Thursday, July 24.
The general public will have access to purchase the jersey from 7.00pm (NZT) the same day.
