A Super Saturday double-header kicked off in Auckland where Warriors halfback Luke Metcalf showed nerves of steel to secure victory with a 50-metre penalty goal in the first minute of golden point.
The Warriors and Broncos finished locked at 18-18 after 80 minutes before Reece Walsh put the kick-off over the dead ball line and from the ensuing penalty on halfway it was Metcalf who stepped up.
In Saturday's second game the Panthers got their mojo back with a comprehensive 38-12 victory over the Roosters in front of 20,373 fans at Allianz Stadium.
With Dylan Edwards in superb form the premiers moved to 2-5 on the season ahead of a Round 8 clash with Manly.
