Team List: Berry back in NRL, Tuivasa-Sheck out

Rocco Berry returns in the centres with Adam Pompey moving to the wing for the injured Roger Tuivasa-Sheck for the One New Zealand Warriors’ fourth-round NRL encounter with the Wests Tigers at Campbelltown Sports Stadium in Sydney on Sunday (6.05pm kick-off local time; 8.05pm NZT).

The 30-year-old Tuivasa-Sheck will be sidelined for up to eight weeks after picking up a high-grade hamstring strain in last Friday night’s win over the Sydney Roosters.

After he left the field midway through the second half, the 26-year-old Pompey moved out to the position where he began his NRL career against Cronulla Sutherland in 2019.

Now he will start there for the 18th time as he edges to within two matches for his 100th first-grade appearance (all of them for the Warriors).

The 23-year-old Berry is recalled to the NRL stage for his 44th game after missing the club’s last 13 matches following a season-ending shoulder injury in round 15 in June last year.

He has made his way back with the club’s New South Wales Cup side, playing in each of the Warriors’ three straight wins featuring an 80-metre run to score right on halftime against the Roosters last Friday.

Apart from Berry coming in and Pompey moving to the wing, the rest of the frontline 17 named is the same as the group used in the opening rounds against Canberra, Manly Warringah and the Roosters.

There are two changes on the extended bench with hooker Sam Healey back for Freddy Lussick after a week off with injury and Edward Kosi returning with Berry moving into the playing side.

The Warriors are coming off another performance in which they had a high completion rate (86 per cent from 38 of 44 sets completed) in a gruelling contest which saw the two sides make a total of 831 tackles with 84 sets in possession in all and just six penalties.

They will meet a buoyant Wests Tigers side which sits fourth on the ladder after back-to-back wins over Parramatta (32-6) and the Dolphins (30-18) following a tight 8-10 round one loss to Newcastle.

This match wraps up a block of four games before the Warriors’ first bye in round five.

As well as Pompey closing in on 100 games, loose forward Erin Clark lines up for game #99 leaving him set for his 100th milestone against the Storm in Melbourne in round six on April 13.
