Match Preview: Huge test against white hot Sea Eagles

With arguably the best performance of round one the Sea Eagles flew out of the gates to trounce the Cowboys and now take on a One New Zealand Warriors side which came home empty handed from Las Vegas.

Led by the magic of Tom Trbojevic, Manly pounded the Cowboys into submission to open their campaign, running for almost 600 metres more than their opponents and crossing for seven tries in a 42-12 romp.

Much of the damage came via their lethal edge of Haumole Olakau'atu, Reuben Garrick and Jason Saab, with the group finishing with six line breaks and over 400 metres between them.

There were no such positive stat lines for the One New Zealand Warriors as they were tipped over by the Raiders 30-8.

While they'll be pleased to be back on Kiwi soil this week, last season's modest 50 percent win rate at Go Media Stadium leaves to question how valuable home field is for them right now.

Team news

One New Zealand Warriors: Head coach Andrew Webster sticks solid with the same 17 that went down to the Raiders in Vegas. No changes in Thursday's 24-hour update with Sam Healey, Bunty Afoa and Ed Kosi making way. Eddie Ieremia-Toeava is 18th man.

Sea Eagles: A change on Thursday with centre Tolu Koula dropping out after failing to recover from a corked thigh, his place taken by Clayton Faulalo in his fourth career game. Dean Matterson is 18th man. Josh Aloiai comes in at prop for Siosiua Taukeiaho, who is expected to miss a week with bone bruising to his knee. The make-up of the bench remains the same with Jake Simpkin, Corey Waddell, Ethan Bullemor and tryscorer Toafofoa Sipley getting the nod.
