Origin success with Maroons for ex-Warriors quartet

Four ex-Warriors were in Queensland’s winning sides in this year’s opening State of Origin clashes.

Fullback Reece Walsh, who made 38 appearances for the club in 2021-2022, was a key contributor in his Origin debut in Queensland’s come-from-behind 26-18 win over New South Wales in game one of the men’s series in Adelaide on Wednesday night.

And last night three ex-Warriors helped the Maroons to an 18-10 victory over the Blues in the first match of the women’s series in Sydney.

Evania Pelite was in the centres while Tazmin Gray and Shaniah Power were the starting second  rowers.

All three appeared for the Warriors in the 2020 NRLW premiership.
