DWZ, Walker and Pompey named for Māori All Stars

One New Zealand Warriors Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Dylan Walker and Adam Pompey have been included in the men’s Māori squad to face the Australian Indigenous side in the historic All Stars clash at Rotorua International Stadium on Saturday, February 11.

It’s the first time the annual event has been brought to New Zealand after the first four were played in Melbourne, Robina, Townsville and Sydney.

Walker will be making his fourth consecutive appearance in the fixture while Watene-Zelezniak will line up for the third time. Pompey has been selected for the first time.

Also named are 2022 One New Zealand Warriors Jesse Arthars and Daejarn Asi along with Rotorua-raised former Warrior Hayze Perham.

Watene-Zelezniak is one of eight players named from the Kiwis’ 2022 Rugby League World Cup squad, the others being Nelson Asofa-Solomona, James Fisher-Harris, Joseph Manu, Briton Nikora, Jordan Rapana, Joseph Tapine and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves.

Included in the Indigenous squad is former Warrior Jamayne Taunoa-Brown.
