Reflecting on contributions from class of 2022

A number of NRL contracted players have now finished their time with the Vodafone Warriors following the end of the club’s 2022 campaign last weekend.

However, some who have been officially farewelled have more football ahead of them with feeder club Redcliffe in the Hostplus Cup play-offs.

The Dolphins beat the Falcons in week one of the finals last weekend and now advance directly to week three, just a win away from reaching the grand final.

Three of the Vodafone Warriors’ top 30 NRL squad finished up earlier in the season, Ash Taylor medically retired after just one game and Kodi Nikorima and Matt Lodge moving to other clubs.

Two departing members from the 2022 NRL squad – Pride Petterson-Robati and Junior Ratuva – didn’t make an NRL appearance during their time with the club while Jackson Frei wasn’t on a top 30 contract this year.

Five players who had been NRL regulars across two or more seasons were among those farewelled at Mount Smart Stadium on Saturday night – Euan Aitken, Chanel Harris-Tavita, Eliesa Katoa, Jack Murchie and Reece Walsh.

Harris-Tavita has the most extensive career with the club with 54 appearances since his debut in 2019.

Here’s a look at the departing players’ NRL careers in their time with the Vodafone Warriors.
