Trials for Bell and Johnson competitions

A number of players from the Sky Sport Future Warriors’ development programme will be among the promising talent on show at trials on Saturday and Monday for the inaugural Shaun Johnson Shield and Dean Bell Cup preseason competitions in March.

First up are trials from 9.00am tomorrow for the regional teams to contest the Shaun Johnson under-16s while players bidding for the squads in the Dean Bell under-18s will have their opportunity on Monday evening.

Run by the Auckland Rugby League with support from the Vodafone Warriors and the New Zealand Rugby League, the trials and the youth competitions are the culmination of development camps staged late last year and last weekend.

Players involved in at least one of the two camps held at Mount Smart Stadium and Cornwall Park will now get the opportunity to trial for their Auckland regional teams. The trial days will consist of two trial sessions split across two fields.
