New Vodafone Warriors signing Reece Walsh comes face-to-face with future teammates when he lines up for the Norths Devils against the Vodafone Warriors’ feeder club Redcliffe in the second round of Queensland’s Intrust Super Cup competition on Sunday.

Fullback Walsh, who joins the Vodafone Warriors on a three-year deal from next season, scored two tries and kicked six goals from seven attempts to help the Devils to a 40-10 win over the Brisbane Tigers last weekend.

Norths are at home at Bishop Park on Sunday to face a Dolphins side coming off a 30-28 win over the Cutters in Mackay last Saturday. Vodafone Warriors players Rocco Berry (two tries) and Viliami Vailea and Marcelo Montoya with one each scored four of Redcliffe’s six tries.

Berry is again in the centres this week while Montoya has been named on the extended bench for the Vodafone Warriors’ NRL encounter with Canberra on Saturday. Vailea is out injured.

Also named for the Dolphins are Hayze Perham – teamed with Berry in the centres – winger Edward Kosi, Jackson Frei, Josh Curran and Pride Petterson-Robati in the starting pack and Preston Riki on the bench.

As well as Walsh, the Devils have former Vodafone Warriors forward Leivaha Pulu, ex-Vodafone Junior Warriors captain and NYC player of the year Michael Sio, former Kiwi, Newcastle and Manly hooker Danny Levi and experienced Brisbane, Sydney Roosters and Gold Coast centre Dale Copley.

Opposing coaches Adam Mogg (Redcliffe) and Rohan Smith (Norths) have both spent time on the coaching staff with the Vodafone Warriors.
