Terrific Tohu's double

Second rower Tohu Harris marked his 150th career appearance by collecting twin honours after his exceptional performance in the Vodafone Warriors’ 18-0 shutout of St George Illawarra in Saturday’s third-round NRL encounter at Central Coast Stadium.

The big man never stopped in a sublime 80-minute effort which helped his side deliver the perfect result as they resumed their campaign after their challenging Covid-19 affected preparation.

After a display that featured any number of outstanding individual efforts, Harris was singled out by his peers, who judged him their players’ player of the day.

Not only that, he also collected three points in the Dally M voting with standoff Kodi Nikorima bagging two points and Eliesa Katoa one.

Statistics can't provide the full picture of the influence Harris had on the contest and on his teammates but they certainly measured the breadth and depth of his involvement.

He carried the ball 21 times for 219 metres – both game-high numbers for all forwards – while his 76 post contact metres was also the best of the day among the forwards.

And his defensive workload was immense with 48 tackles, the most for his side, with just one missed tackle. In a game when the Vodafone Warriors completed an NRL record 46 from 48 sets with just one handling error, Harris had  no errors and didn’t concede any penalties either.
