Capital clash tickets on sale

Wellington will be one of four home venues for the Vodafone Warriors during the 2020 NRL season and today tickets have gone on sale for their clash in the Capital against North Queensland.

The match against Jason Taumalolo and his Cowboys teammates comes to the newly-named SKY Stadium on Saturday, June 27 (5.05pm kick-off).

Captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and his players are excited to be heading to Wellington again buoyed by the knowledge their last two trips there produced impressive wins.

In 2016 they came away with a 24-20 victory over the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs while last year Blake Green’s career-first field goal gave them a 19-18 triumph over the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.

Indeed, after failing to win in the Capital in their first six attempts, the Vodafone Warriors have won three of their four, starting the run with a 42-16 success against Wests Tigers.

This year’s trek south is perfectly-timed for all fans and especially for those travelling from out of town, the early Saturday evening kick-off time lending itself to a weekend away.

A special feature will see the Vodafone Warriors airing their much-discussed, so-called bush shirt jersey.

The Vodafone Warriors’ other home venues this season are Mount Smart Stadium (for nine games), Eden Park (for the ‘Codes of Auckland’ clash against Canberra on March 21) and Suncorp Stadium (for the NRL Magic Round).
