Lights, camera, action on Waitangi Day

Waitangi Day was no holiday for Vodafone Warriors head coach Stephen Kearney, captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, seven other players and also club mascot Tiki.

Instead they were on a whistle-stop trip to Sydney for a Fox League promo shoot.

Making the flight across the Tasman late yesterday afternoon, Kearney and the players were on set at the Fox studios at 6.30 this morning to get kitted out, have make-up applied and then fulfil a number of requirements at various stations.

Among them were individual and group shots against a backdrop of eye-catching Vodafone Warriors graphics created for Fox League’s coverage this year. There was also a specially-created dressing room for individual interviews as content was recorded for use during the coming season.

The look created is due to be revealed on February 18.

Elsewhere material was gathered for Fox League staple programmes The Matty Johns Show, The Fan and League Life as well as content for use on social channels.

Apart from Kearney and Tuivasa-Sheck, the others involved were Adam Blair, Issac Luke, Tohu Harris, Peta Hiku, David Fusitu’a, Ken Maumalo and Isaiah Papali’i.

By 9.45am the shoot was over, the Vodafone Warriors crew heading to Sydney Airport returning home early this evening.
