Nathaniel Roache’s operation to repair his lumbar disc injury has been rated a success.

The 21-year-old hooker’s season-ending setback was confirmed two weeks ago.

Vodafone Warriors head of performance Alex Corvo said Roache’s surgery had gone well.

While Roache isn’t expected to play again this season, prop Agnatius Paasi made an impressive return from his minor knee injury last weekend. He suffered a minor medial ligament strain early in the trial against the Melbourne Storm in Rotorua on February 17, marking his first full appearance of the season with 190 metres from 21 carries.

Paasi has again been included on the extended bench for the Vodafone Warriors' second-round NRL match against Gold Coast on Saturday (5.00pm kick-off) and has also been listed in the front row for Intrust Super Premiership side's encounter with Canterbury-Bankstown
