Vodafone Warriors coach Stacey Jones has made a positional swap and called in a late replacement for tonight's Intrust Super Premiership week two finals clash against the Newtown Jets at Pepper Stadium (8.35pm NZT).

Seasoned front rower Upu Poching will start at prop in the sudden-death playoff with 2016 NRL rookie Toafofoa Sipley moving to the interchange.

Since the Vodafone Warriors took over complete control of the side formerly known as the Vulcans in 2014, Poching has played almost 60 matches (only second rower John Palavi has played more).

After an outstanding NYC career which ended last season, Sipley made further progress by appearing in two NRL matches this year.

Out of the side originally named is Sipley's older brother Pat but there's still a family link in the side with Palavi's older brother Daniel coming in to replace Pat Sipley.

Omitted from the six-man bench named on Tuesday are Erin Clark and Marata Niukore.

The Jets, fourth in the regular season, went down 12-30 to the Mounties in the first week of the finals while the fifth-ranked Vodafone Warriors beat Penrith 21-14.
