As well as succeeding on the field several members of the NYC premiership-winning Vodafone Junior Warriors grand final team have excelled off it by graduating from a business course at Te Wananga o Aotearoa.

Among those to achieve a Certificate in First Steps to Business were co-captain and prop Sam Lisone, standoff Tuimoala Lolohea, centre Nathaniel Roache, wingers Ngataua Hukatai and Paul Ulberg, back rowers Jazz Tevaga and Michael Ki and hooker Kurt Robinson. All of them were in the club’s NYC grand final-winning side in October.

David Fusitu’a, who played at NRL, New South Wales Cup and NYC level this year, was another graduate as were seven other players who appeared at NYC level for the club at some stage during the season – Metia Lisati, Paul Tuli, Tomas Aoake, John Wesley Tauti, Braxton Stanley, Matiu Love Henry and Mikaere Beattie.

Departed Vodafone Warriors centre Dane Nielsen also graduated as did New South Wales Cup winger Jarred Wilson.
