Three team awards are given out each month to the players: Asics Attacking Player of the Month, Canterbury Defender of the Month and the Vodafone Mana Award.

These are the award winners for the month of June:

ASICS ATTACKING PLAYER OF THE MONTH | Manu Vatuvei

Manu ‘The Beast’ Vatuvei had a productive month on attack, scoring three tries from four appearances and playing the full 80 minutes in each match. The flying winger averaged an impressive 127.5 metres per game in June and he was particularly on-point against the Rabbitohs in Perth. Although the Vodafone Warriors eventually slumped to a loss, Vatuvei carried the ball 16 times for 138 metres and made two offloads.

CANTERBURY DEFENDER OF THE MONTH | Jacob Lillyman

‘The Bull’ had a memorable June, playing a vital role in a successful month for his Vodafone Warriors and getting a recall to the Maroons for Origin II after being left out for the initial encounter. He performed admirably in the representative match and plugged straight back into work at the club without skipping a beat. For the month Lillyman averaged just over 21 tackles per game and made just one error.

MANA AWARD | Ben Henry

Ben Henry is as versatile as they come. The month of June saw the former Bay Roskill junior slot in at three different spots: centre, second row and loose forward, in addition to a brief stint filling in at dummy half. Coming off the interchange bench, Ben has been a productive force, making 31 tackles from just 58 minutes against Brisbane and then leading the team in tackles against Penrith the following week with 37, despite playing for 60 minutes. Ben has been lauded by his teammates and coaches for his toughness in playing through injury, as well as for his massive effort week-in and week-out.
