Former Vodafone Warrior Brent Tate will edge closer to his 200-game career milestone when he returns to Auckland with North Queensland to face his former club at Mount Smart Stadium on Easter Monday (6.00pm kick-off; game day sponsor: Red Bull).
Now in his 13th NRL season, 2008-2010 Vodafone Warrior Tate (31) is set to play his 198th NRL match when he runs onto his old home ground.
Like the Vodafone Warriors, the Cowboys wont lack motivation to win this week.
Both clubs are coming into the game on the back of disappointing form. While the Vodafone Warriors showed improvement in their 14-16 second-round loss to the Sydney Roosters, they suffered a 4-28 reverse against Cronulla last Sunday.
The Cowboys started the 2013 with a 24-12 away win over beaten 2012 grand finalist Canterbury-Bankstown but have since been beaten 32-10 at home by Melbourne and 34-6 by the Knights in Newcastle on Monday night.
As well as Tate, the Cowboys will again have the brilliant Johnathan Thurston guiding a side which includes Matt Bowen, Ashley Graham, Matt Scott, James Tamou, Gavin Cooper and Dallas Johnson as well as the explosive New Zealander Jason Taumalolo on the bench.
