Warriors Inspire Logan
Warriors Inspire Logan is a trailblazing programme created by the One New Zealand Warriors and the City of Logan in South East Queensland.
It came about following the announcement of a joint venture between the club and the city in July 2025 to set up an academy and community programme in the area.
The initiative offers an elite training and talent identification programme as well as a community initiative to help young people from Logan connect with sport and career opportunities outside football.
Leading community developer and home build Ausbuild is on board as a partner to provide work and community opportunities.
The programme’s football manager is ex-Warriors NRLW and Australian Jillaroos coach Brad Donald while former Warriors front rower Mark Tookey is the community manager.
One New Zealand Warriors CEO Cameron George says Warriors Inspire Logan is “a huge development for us as a club, a great opportunity to spread our presence into South East Queensland which is a real hotbed for rugby league talent.”
The elite academy for boys and girls in Logan will provide a direct pathway to the One New Zealand Warriors’ NRL and NRLW teams.
“It’s a two-pronged approach between Logan City and the One New Zealand Warriors to work with the community for better outcomes for locals though work programmes and to form a rugby league academy to create another pathway for young boys and girls to chase their dreams,” said George.
Of the partnership, Logan City mayor Jon Raven said: “So many rugby league legends have come from Logan and we’re thrilled to welcome the Warriors to our city to nurture more NRL stars of the future. Logan is the leading rugby league nursery in the nation and has one of the largest populations of people of New Zealand and Pacific Island descent outside of Auckland.”
Warriors Inspire Logan is based at the Logan Metro Sports Park.
“Our elite academy for boys and girls in Logan will provide a direct pathway to the New Zealand Warriors’ NRL and NRLW teams,” said George.
