Harvey Norman Heartland Female Athlete

The Harvey Norman Heartland Female Athlete programme is an initiative launched by the One New Zealand Warriors and major partner Harvey Norman in 2025.

The programme has been created to support the next generation of female athletes across Aotearoa.

It provides aspiring sportswomen with a unique opportunity to experience what it takes to compete at the highest level while also developing the tools and confidence to become leaders outside the game.

The Harvey Norman Heartland Female Athlete Programme represents an exciting step in the club’s commitment to grow opportunities for women in sport both on and off the field.

Spots for camps around the country will be strictly limited to 20 participants; the first of these was held in Nelson in late November 2025 bringing together selected female players aged 15-18.

Participants are given an insight into high-performance environments including sessions on: Mental health and wellbeing, nutrition, strength and skill development as well as player agent and management advice.

The camps will feature NRLW head coach Ron Griffiths among other special guests in the space.

Of the concept, Griffiths said: “We want to identify and support young talent, but more importantly, help create well-rounded athletes who can thrive in all areas of their lives.

“It’s about building confident, connected and capable young women. First and foremost we want to aid in the holistic development of female athletes in New Zealand.”
