Full-time: The Knights have pulled off a famous victory in front of a record crowd at Eden Park, Newcastle holding on for a 12-10 win. A Dom Young try in the opening minutes of the second half ultimately proved the difference and helped his side book their place in next week's preliminary final. 80th minute: Fletcher Sharpe has somehow managed to catch a bomb amid heavy traffic from the Warriors chasers. The hosts are appealing for an escort but the referee has cleared it. Newcastle are less than a minute away from victory. Warriors 10 - Knights 12. 

79th minute: We're off to the Bunker with the Knights claiming a try but it appeared Dane Gagai dropped the ball in the chaos. He kicked the ball after it hit the deck but it's not an intentional drop-kick and the Warriors survive. The hosts have just two minutes to pull off the comeback. Warriors 10 - Knights 12. 

76th minute: Another big moment coming up with the Warriors challenging an on-field ruling of strip. Greg Marzehw spilled the ball in a heavy collision, Te Maire Martin reeling out of the contact. The Bunker has ruled he attempted to strip the ball as he fell backwards. Newcastle get the penalty with less than five on the clock. Warriors 10 - Knights 12.

74th minute: More drama at Eden Park with the Warriors receiving a penalty for a high shot on Dallin Watene-Zelezniak. As this is happening, Kalyn Ponga has been taken from the field for an HIA after being crunched by Leka Halasima in the previous set of six. Warriors 10 - Knights 12. 

73rd minute: The Knights have lodged their Captain's Challenge after Bradman Best was ruled to have dropped the ball. Kalyn Ponga was convinced it was deflected first by the Warriors and replays show Ali Leiataua got a touch to the ball. It's a big call and it goes Newcastle's way. Warriors 10 - Knights 12.

70th minute: We have a grandstand finish on our hands. Chanel Harris-Tevita came close to scoring on one play and the Warriors went back to the short side on the next tackle. Leka Halasima had very little room to work with but somehow managed to get the ball down and stay inside the field of play. Taine Tuaupiki's sideline conversion is waved away. There's a thrilling finish coming up in front of a record crowd of 48,511. It's the biggest ever attendance for a rugby league match in New Zealand. But in a further blow for the Warriors, Tuaupiki has been taken from the field for an HIA. Warriors 10 - Knights 12. 

69th minute: Now the Warriors use their Captain's Challenge after James Fisher-Harris dropped the ball in a tackle. The Bunker has ruled it was a crusher tackle and it's a successful challenge. The Warriors have another chance to strike. Warriors 6 - Knights 12. 

67th minute: The Knights continue to hold firm and look who's back. Dylan Lucas has entered the fray to complete a stunning recovery from a fractured ankle just eight weeks ago. Warriors 6 - Knights 12.

65th minute: Newcastle errors have opened the door for the Warriors and another mistake inside the Knights half has given the hosts an attacking set of six. Newcastle have held firm thus far but the fatigue is starting to build. Warriors - Knights 12. 

61st minute: Ali Leiataua has strolled through a big gap but the referee has sent it upstairs as no try due to obstruction. There's contact on Fletcher Sharpe, with Leiataua running back through Sharpe's defensive channel. It's no try and the Knights survive. Warriors 6 - Knights 12.

60th minute: Dom Young scored a try earlier and now he's come up with a couple of big defensive plays to deny the Knights at the other end of the field. The Warriors have another attacking set after Newcastle made an error, with just 20 minutes left in this contest. The hosts have been dealt a blow, however, Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad ruled out for the match after failing his HIA. Warriors 6 - Knights 12. 

56th minute: The Warriors have successfully defended multiple sets of six on their own line and forced an error to regain possession. It was an important stop and keeps the hosts within a converted try. Warriors 6 - Knights 12.

53rd minute: Newcastle have lodged a Captain's Challenge after Lachlan Crouch was penalised for ruck interference. It's a successful challenge with the Bunker ruling Crouch was simply leaving the ruck when Jacob Laban placed the ball on his foot. 49th minute: Kurt Capewell has produced a big defensive play to take Dom Young into touch before coming up with a powerful carry to put his side on the front foot. The Warriors, however, couldn't capitalise and spilt the ball. Meanwhile, Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad left the field for an HIA and is currently undergoing the test. Warriors 6 - Knights 12.

45th minute: Newcastle have the lead for the first time this afternoon. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak attempted an offload under pressure but passed the ball straight to Knights centre Bradman Best. The visitors duly capitalised with Dom Young racing away down the right wing a couple of plays later. It's the perfect start to the second half for the Knights. Meanwhile, Alofiana Khan-Pereira has replaced Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad on the wing, the veteran leaving the field with an injury. Warriors 6 - Knights 12.

Kick-off: We are back for the second half, with this contest evenly poised at the midway point. One of these sides is just 40 minutes away from a preliminary final, Newcastle have the breeze behind their backs as they looks to stun the Warriors and silence a deafening Eden Park crowd. Half-time: That is half-time with Newcastle successfully scrambling to deny a late try or field goal attempt. We are all locked up after an enthralling half of football with both sides generating opportunities to score. 40th minute: The Warriors have lodged a challenge with 27 seconds left on the clock. The on-field referee had called a knock on but replays show it came off a Newcastle hand first. The Warriors have a scrum on halfway and could look for a field goal before time expires. Warriors 6 - Knights 6.

38th minute: Now it's the Warriors turn to have an attacking chance undone by a forward pass. Leka Halasima continues to cause havoc down the left edge and bumped off Sandon Smith to make a break. The centre offloaded to his winger but the ball travelled forward and the Knights survive. Warriors 6 - Knights 6. 

35th minute: A late chance coming up for the Knights to hit the front after Leka Halasima knocked the ball on near halfway. Newcastle have had limited attacking opportunities so far so they'll be looking to build some pressure in the final five minutes before half-time. Warriors 6 - Knights 6.

29th minute: This time the Knights ice a long-range break and it's third-time lucky for Fletcher Sharpe. From nowhere Bradman Best stepped, straightened and fend his way past a couple of Warriors defenders to burst into the backfield. Sharpe loomed up on the inside in support and juggled the pass but eventually reeled it in to score the try. We are all locked up at Eden Park. Warriors 6 - Knights 6. 

26th minute: A fortuitous bounce for the Knights after Kalyn Ponga let a bomb hit the deck. It kicked on towards the dead-ball line, with Dallin Watene-Zelezniak unable to tap it back infield. It's a 20m tap for Newcastle and a chance to build some breathing room in the territorial battle. Warriors 6 - Knights 0.

22nd minute: Newcastle winger Greg Marzhew has come up with a couple of big defensive plays in quick succession to deny the Warriors. The first saw him knock down a pass to prevent a certain try and he's followed it up with a big try-saving tackle on Dallin Watene-Zelezniak to bundle the winger into touch. Warriors 6 - Knights 0.

19th minute: The door is ajar for the Warriors to extend their lead. Newcastle produced another early shift and they created space for Greg Marzhew but the winger couldn't reel in the Bradman Best tip on. Warriors have a scrum on halfway. Warriors 6 - Knights 0.

14th minute: It hasn't taken long for Leka Halasima to make an impact in his return from a hamstring injury, the centre crashing over for the first points of the match. A set restart put the Warriors on the front foot and they took advantage of a retreating defensive line with a string of powerful carries before Halasima finished it off. Warriors 6 - Knights 0. 

11th minute: Newcastle look to have capitalised on the field position from the penalty with the Knights putting up a bomb and Fletcher Sharpe on the spot to toe a loose ball through and ground the ball in the in-goal. Replays show the ball clearly came forward off Francis Manuleleua's hand in the contest for the ball and the try is disallowed. Warriors 0 - Knights 0. 

9th minute: Another big moment in this match with Kalyn Ponga hit high by Ali Leiataua. The ball came free and Dallin Watene-Zelezniak picked up the loose ball and raced away. It's a Newcastle penalty, with Leiataua placed on report. Warriors 0 - Knights 0.

8th minute: We have an early Captain's Challenge, with Kalyn Ponga appealing a call of knock on against Newcastle. The ball was kicked by the Warriors and hit a player in front of the kicker, so it's a successful challenge with a ruling of accidental offside. It's been a frenetic start to this match, with both sides moving the ball around. The Warriors had just spent a couple of sets in attacking territory but it's now Newcastle's turn to work the ball out of their own end. Warriors 0 - Knights 0.

5th minute: It's nearly a dream start for the Knights but they've come unstuck in two successive plays. Kalyn Ponga slid straight through down the left edge near the halfway line, drew the fullback and passed to Fletcher Sharpe with the line wide open but the five-eighth fell over. Newcastle had a quick play the ball and moved the ball to the right with Dom Young appearing to score in the corner but the last pass from Dane Gagai went forward. Warriors 0 - Knights 0.

Kick-off: We are underway at a sold-out Eden Park with the Warriors eager to bounce back from last week's loss to the Dolphins. The Knights are riding high and desperate to continue a fairytale run from wooden spoon to finals football. A spot in the preliminary final is on the line, the winner to play Penrith next week and the loser to begin their off-season. Late Mail

Warriors: Centre Leka Halasima and winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak have come into the starting side in Sunday's final update. Adam Pompey and Alofiana Khan-Pereira shift to the six-man bench as a result. Morgan Gannon was named on Tuesday as Jackson Ford's replacement but dropped off the bench 90 minutes before kick-off. 

Knights: No further changes on gameday after Dylan Lucas was added to the six-man interchange bench on Saturday in a massive boost for the Knights. Lucas fractured his ankle against the Roosters in Round 21 and looked to be gone for the season but he has worked diligently to get himself right.
