NRLW Team Update: Ikenasio back to start in centres

Tysha Ikenasio has been brought into the centres for the One New Zealand Warriors’ final NRLW regular season clash against the Broncos at Totally Workwear Stadium in Brisbane tomorrow (12.00pm kick-off local time, 2.00pm NZT).

She picked up an ankle injury in the round nine loss to the Dragons sidelining her for last Saturday’s match against the Sharks.

Her inclusion sees Stacey Waaka moved to fullback replacing Anastasia Sekene with Ikenasio joining Mele Hufanga in the centres.

Captain Apii Nicholls and middle forward Laishon Albert-Jones have been retained on the extended bench.

The Warriors’ slim hopes of making the finals were ended when they lost 32-40 to the Sharks last Saturday.

This weekend they’ll seek a positive finish to their second season back in the competition when they face last year’s premiership winners.

Included in the Warriors’ side are three players who were part of that Brisbane victory last year in Hufanga, standoff Gayle Broughton and prop Annetta Nuuausala as well as former Bronco Waaka.

The Warriors will be seeking to end a run of four straight defeats since beating Newcastle in Hamilton on August 8.
