First it was Webster, now McFadden re-commits

First it was Andrew Webster, now Andrew McFadden has extended his commitment to the One Zealand Warriors.

On the back of locking Webster in as head coach until 2032, One New Zealand Warriors CEO Cameron George has today confirmed McFadden's long-term future in his role as the club's general manager recruitment, pathways and development.

McFadden's return to the Warriors coincided with Webster rejoining the club for the 2023 season.

"It’s critical for us to have both Webby and Cappy committed long-term,” he said.

“These announcements have been planned in my thinking for some time given we share the same vision and are aligned on the future shape of the One New Zealand Warriors.

“Having stability in these critical roles will ultimately bring ongoing success.

"When we reset for our homecoming, Cappy's appointment was of the utmost importance to us. He is a passionate and dynamic contributor to our journey and we all value his opinion.

"He and Webby shared a deep affinity with the club from when they were first here. “Together they had an understanding and vision of what needed to be done to create a leading edge, sustainable football structure.

"Cappy has done an exceptional job in bringing to life a programme pulling the key areas of recruitment, pathways and development together.

“What we are seeing the club achieve across the board now sheets back to what he and his staff put in place three years ago and have continued to shape.

“To build on what Cappy has started is a key, in the same way Webby has done as our head coach.”

McFadden has now spent a total of 10 years in New Zealand.

“The Warriors have been such a big part of our lives as a family. We love it here,” said McFadden.

“This role with the club has been incredibly rewarding. There’s so much talent around New Zealand and we’re seeing the results of the work everyone is doing.

“The future for the Warriors is exciting, something I want to be a part of for years to come.”

The 48-year-old McFadden spent six seasons at Mount Smart Stadium from 2013-2018 as both head coach and assistant coach before returning in late 2022.
