After picking up 12 points in the last six weeks, the One New Zealand Warriors will be out to reclaim their spot in the top five when they face the Sea Eagles in their round 24 New South Wales Cup clash at 4 Pines Park in Sydney today (11.00am kick-off local time; 1.00pm NZT).
The defending premiers were a distant six points outside the top five in 11th place after their 16-34 loss to Canberra on June 28 but since then they’ve mounted a charge.
So much so their impressive 36-24 win over competition leader Penrith lifted them to fifth, the first time they’d been in the top five all season.
After picking up two points from a bye in round 18 bye, they reeled off consecutive wins over Western Suburbs (44-20), St George Illawarra (31-26) and Canterbury Bankstown (38-16) followed by another bye and the Penrith victory.
