Creative minds ‘Hatman’ and ‘Creative Taro’ collaborated on a unique captain’s cap donated to the One New Zealand Warriors when they were in Wellington for their Anzac Round NRL match in April.

Renowned ‘Hatman’ Simon Smuts-Kennedy is the CEO of Pōneke -based Hills Hats, known for striking and unique headwear creations.

‘Creative Taro’ is Māori-Samoan entrepreneur, content creator and sustainable fashion advocate Jordaan Tuitama, best-known for his work in thrifting, upcycling and reselling clothing.

Tuitama presented the impressive captain’s cap to the One New Zealand Warriors - fittingly enough - after their captain’s run at Hnry Stadium ahead of the club’s sold out Anzac Day match against the Dolphins.

“The amazing captain’s cap is something I had the privilege of working on with  ‘Hatman’ from Hills Hats,” said Tutama.

“We made this Warriors captain’s cap to create something for the club but also to commemorate our past fallen soldiers and our present soldiers who are serving our country and doing good mahi.

“This is a one-off pōtae gifted to the club for auctioning it for charity and donating the pūtea (funds) back to our forces.

“I had the privilege of taking this to the captain’s run and presenting it to the club.”

The cap is now being auctioned with proceeds going to Te Kiwi Māia. Place bids here.
