Storm: Round 6
Ford momentum: A big shift from prop Jackson Ford who has been in sensational form this year. In this big win, Ford made a team-high double of 35 tackles and 162 run metres.
Melbourne malaise: While the Warriors deserve credit for their performance in their own right, the figures from the Storm also warrant a look in their fourth straight loss of 2026. They completed at 78 percent, with 10 errors. Giving up seven penalties and seven ruck infringements also added to their defensive load.
Full-time: A huge victory for the Warriors who break a long-standing hoodoo against the Storm. They proved far too strong and out-enthused and outmuscled their opposition in their 38-14 win. Leading at half-time, they visitors came out firing again in the second and didn't relinquish the pressure. The Storm did try to fight back with Sua Faalogo in particular looking the most dangerous, but overall a repeated pattern of poor discipline proved too much for Melbourne to overcome, with the side losing four in a row for the first time since 2022.
68th min: Huge defence from RTS, manhandling Will Warbrick over the sideline as he was attempting to get the ball down on their right edge.
67th min: Frustrations boiling over! Storm get a penalty for a Jacob Laban shoulder charge, but Josh King and Chanel Harris-Tavita have words after the half gets the prop in a heavy tackle. Referee Grant Atkins tells the captains to sort their teams out and play goes on.
66th min: More luck with a captain's challenge for Storm, with Nick Meaney appealing he had not lost the ball on the ground - but the Bunker instead finds that he was hit high, so the Storm are successful.
63rd min: Some luck goes Storm's way after they throw out some enterprising play with Grant kicking on the second tackle for a chasing Sua Faalogo. Tuiapiki gets it and passes, but straight back to Faalogo. Then, Hughes is monstered in a tackle, losing the ball backwards and Tuivasa-Sheck tries to pick up the rolling ball, but knocks on. Warriors challenge the call, but are unsuccessful.
59th min: Warriors gifted another two points with a penalty goal from Boyd after Trent Loiero is penalised for an escort. Storm captain Harry Grant enquires about a challenge, but they've left it too late. Warriors lead 38-14.
52nd min: Bang-bang-bang to the Warriors and DWZ is in for his second. Ali Leiataua jumps up on a kick, brings it down and offloads, with the visitors getting the ball out to their try-scoring winger who does the rest. Boyd converts and the lead is a big 36-14 margin.
48th min: Jackson Ford is awarded a try on the field and confirmed by the Bunker, despite commentators wondering if there was a hint of a double movement. However, there is no denying that the Storm did not defend the play well enough, with the big prop making ground too easily after another Storm error. Boyd converts to push the lead out to 30-14.
44th min: Perfect start to the second half for the Warriors, with Roger Tuivasa-Sheck going over for his first try of the season. Everything Craig Bellamy would have told the Storm to do at half-time appears to have been ignored, with his side giving up simple penalties and six-agains. That was the case in the lead-up to this try and the Warriors are a good enough team to pounce on every invitation to score. Boyd converts and it's a bit 24-14 lead to the visitors now.
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck Try
Half-time: The visiting Warriors side take an 18-14 lead into the break at AAMI Park. The Storm's disciplinary woes continue to hurt them, conceding five penalties to two. They have also given up four ruck infringements to one as well as missing 21 tackles to 12. The Warriors came to play and a desperate to break a 17 game losing streak against the Storm.
40th min: The Warriors extend their lead in the final minute of the half with Boyd kicking a penalty goal. Storm skipper Harry Grant is penalised for an escort, taking out Warriors fullback Taine Tuaupiki who was chasing through on a Boyd high kick. Warriors lead 18-14.
31st min: It was messy - but the Warriors are back in front with Dallin Watene-Zelezniak cleaning up a bounce-pass from Boyd that went across the front of three other Warriors trying to collect it. He picks it up and runs out to his right, going over untouched. Boyd can't covert from out wide and the score remains 16-14 to the Warriors.
Dallin Watene-Zelezniak Try
24th min: Storm go back-to-back with a try that involved numerous sets of hands and plenty of offloads. Melbourne just kept on keeping the ball alive before eventually pushing out to their right and Jack Howarth is able to run straight from 10 metres out to put the ball down. Meaney's conversion attempt is successful and the score is 14-12 with the Storm in front for the first time.
17th min: An important bounce back from Clarke - who has been filling in as a backrower. He powers his way over the line for his first ever NRL try, carrying Warriors defenders over the line. Meaney converts to narrow the scores to 12-8 in favour of the Warriors.
Cooper Clarke Try
15th min: Another Storm error and once more the Wahs capitalise. Cooper Clarke gives up a penalty on the 5th tackle and the Warriors make sure they use their chance. A hard-running Marata Niukore proves too hard to stop close to the line and crashes over. Boyd converts again for a 12-2 lead.
10th min: Warriors respond soon after, but with a try, thanks to powerful centre Ali Leiataua getting the ball down. The Storm had been on the attack, but lost the ball mid-field and the visitors were able to work their way into attacking position. Tanah Boyd converts for a 6-2 lead.
Ali Leiataua Try
4th min: Early points for the Storm, courtest of a penalty goal from Nick Meaney. Warriors are pinged for an escort and Melbourne opt to take the two.y
Kick off: Storm have the first run with the ball as they attempt to break their three-game losing streak.
Storm: No late changes on game day. A double backline boost with Jack Howarth (hip) and Moses Leo (concussion) returning as Melbourne look to avoid four straight losses for the first time since 2022. Preston Conn moves to the reserves after being part of the six-man interchange but not getting on the field last week. Lazarus Vaalepu was the other man not used against the Panthers and he is again on the bench.
Warriors: A few late changes on game day with Roger Tuivasa-Sheck pushing into the centres, giving speedster Alofiana Khan Pereira his club debut starting on the wing. Leka Halasima reverts back to the second row, which pushes Jacob Laban back to the bench. Earlier, Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad was a late withdrawal with a neck injury, joining Adam Pompey (suspended) on the sideline. Another injury to playmaker Luke Metcalf (hamstring) brings Chanel Harris-Tavita in at five-eighth.

Roosters: Round 6
Full-time: The Roosters have overcome a 22-12 half-time deficit to post a 34-22 win over the Sharks. A stereotypical 'game of two halves', the Roosters had poor discipline and made too many errors in the first half, but it was the Sharks who were guilty of the same in the second.
77th min: The Roosters put the result beyond doubt you imagine with only three left on the clock, with Victor Radley going over in his return from a club-imposed ban. Walker converts and it's 34-22.
74th min: Another captain's challenge and the Roosters are successful. Tedesco was trying to recover a high ball, but got hit high.
70th min: And now, the Roosters have hit the front. A break from Tedesco starts it, with Nawaqanitawase following through and then able to get a great offload to a trailing DCE who goes over for his second try of the night. Walker's conversion attempt is successful to put his side in front 28-22.
66th min: Tupou has a double after running in on the left corner, with the Roosters capitalise on repeat possession. The veteran ran onto a perfectly executed tip-on pass from makeshift NRL centre Hugo Savala to his left. Walker can't convert and scores are locked 22-22.
63rd min: The Sharks aren't as lucky with their next captain's challenge and have no more left for the day.
60th min: Successful captain's challenge from Trindall after he was initially ruled to have knocked on an attempt to regather a grubbering line drop out. Angus Crichton collects his head on his way and gets penalised.
54th min: Huge defensive set from the Sharks who are guilty of making the errors the Roosters were in the first half and forced to defend multiple sets on their own line. However, a bit hit in the belly of Connor Watson lets Cronulla take a sigh of relief.
48th min: A successful captain's challenge from the Roosters.
43rd min: A perfect start for the Roosters in the second half with Cherry-Evans getting over for the first try since the resumption of play. DCE puts up the kick and winger Mark Nawaqanitawase goes up and bats it back into his arms as he chased through on his own kick. Walker's conversion kisses the inside of the left post and goes it and it's 22-18 to the Sharks and game on in Perth.
Half-time: The Sharks hold a deserved 22-12 lead at the break after punishing the Roosters for their errors - eight in the half compared to four from Cronulla. Roosters also have only completed at 66 percent, so will be happy to still be in the game.
40th min: Daniel Tupou runs in for a try as the siren sounds for half-time in the background. A fantastic kick from Walker to deliver the ball in perfect position for his winger who jogs in untouched. Walker converts and it's 22-12 in WA.
Daniel Tupou Try
38th min: Toia denied again - held up over the line by some committed Sharks defenders.
34th min: How the momentum turns. Denied just moments earlier by the Bunker, the Roosters instead concede a try on the other side of the field, with Tom Hazelton picking up another Sharks try. Oregon Kaufusi with a tip on and the forward scores. Hynes kicks the conversion for 22-6.
33rd min: A try to Robert Toia is overturned by the Bunker. Toia, who ended the play by getting over the line, is deemed to have not contested properly a Daly Cherry-Evans kick, with his contact putting off Sam Stonestreet from his attempt to collect the ball. Score remains 16-6 to the Sharks.
30th min: Roosters have stopped the rot with Sam Walker sprinting away to score. Out of almost nothing, the Roosters go to their short-side to their left, with speed down the sideline setting them up, with Walker chasing back on the inside to get the ball and finish the play. Walker converts his own try and it's 16-6 to the Sharks.
Sam Walker Try
25th min: Cronulla are on a roll and are punishing the error-riddle Roosters. Next to score is Braydon Trindall, but Hynes misses this relatively simple attempt and scores remain 16-0.
11th min: Sharks go back-to-back in no time with Mawene Hiroti the beneficiary of some luck. The Roosters were defending their tryline and a stray arm of Sam Walker trying to get an intercept instead pops the ball back into the arms of the Cronulla centre who runs in to score. Hynes slots another for 12-0.
Jesse Colquhoun Try
7th min: We have our first try and there is a lot to unpack there with the Sharks turning defence into attack in a major way. It seemed the Roosters were going to be the first on the board with James Tedesco making a break through the middle, running almost the length of the field, but the Sharks were able to scramble back and deny them with some desperate defence. After applying the pressure, Sione Katoa was able to scoop up a ball he helped loosen and run almost the same distance back to his attacking side of the field. Cronulla were then able to set up their attack and sent the ball to their lock Jesse Colquhoun to dive over for a remarkable try. Hynes converts and it's 6-0.
Kick off: Roosters have first use of the ball in the second game of the Perth double header.
Late Mail
Sharks: Prop Tom Hazleton picked up an ankle complaint against the Warriors but is set to take his place in the starting line-up. Jayden Berrell and Riley Jones were elevated to the six-man bench on Friday. Also copping an injury last Sunday was centre Jesse Ramien (knee), who is replaced by Mawene Hiroti.
Roosters: Victor Radley plays his first game since last year's elimination final having served a suspension while Spencer Leniu (hamstring) is also back. The loss of Billy Smith to a knee injury sees the versatile Hugo Savala lines up at centre. Prolific winger Daniel Tupou has scored 14 tries in 17 games against the Sharks.
