Dallin Watene-Zelezniak was the only One New Zealand Warriors player to figure in Dally M votes following Sunday’s loss to Cronulla Sutherland.
As was the case after the defeat by the Wests Tigers, one point only was awarded to a Warriors player.
The other 11 points were shared by three Sharks players, fullback Will Kennedy with six, standoff Braydon Trindall three and halfback Nicho Hynes two.
Watene-Zelezniak’s hat-trick in the 22-36 loss on Sunday was the fourth time he has scored three or more tries in a match (he had four against St George Illawarra in 2023) but the first time in a losing effort.
He struck in the seventh minute to give the Warriors the early lead, was in again from 80 metres in the 27th minute and for the third time two minutes into the second half to cut Cronulla’s lead to 16-24.
Watene-Zelezniak finished with a team-high 188 metres (his most in one game so far this season) from 14 runs.
