Maxigesic Recovery Report: Metcalf rejoins injured brigade

Playmaker Luke Metcalf has rejoined co-captain Mitchell Barnett on the One New Zealand Warriors’ injury list.

The two players were in rehab together for months as they both recovered from ACL knee surgery.

In only his second match back, Barnett broke his right thumb against the Wests Tigers and had surgery on it last week. It’s yet to be determined when he will be able to return.

Metcalf walked off the field with a hamstring issue in the 75th minute of last Sunday’s loss to Cronulla Sutherland. No date has yet been set for his return to play.

Second rower Kurt Capewell (calf) was targeted to return this week but remains on the injured list.
